Blogging from bed...

It's true... I'm sitting in bed, with phone, iPad, my new magazine, heater, watching Roseanne, and throwing toys for crazy Cam. I should feel incredibly guilty for being so lazy. Well, okay, I do feel guilty, but I'm going to work past it. I don't think the self-imporvement book I'm reading, is helping much. Seriously, read yesterday's post labeled "Yesterday," ha! Hey, I was productive before I did that post... got a ton of stuff done, before noon!!

This is the Roseanne episode in which Nancy tells Jackie and Roseanne that she's dating a woman. It's pretty funny... Jackie is afraid Nancy will start checking her out, and she and Roseanne are discussing how it works with two women, you know, "Who gets to be the selfish man... I mean, do they take turns or what?" I love the stereo-types they're throwing out too... cracks me up, because you know this is how a LOT of people think.

SO, if you did read my last post, you'll know why this blurry picture was taken...

YES, I know. I caved in. I couldn't help it. I bought the chocolate Valentine cakes. I convinced myself it would be fine. Only 6 grams of fat (3 saturated) if I eat one a night, rather than the two pack, and the 39 (oooh, I forgot you get to divide that number too!!) grams of carbs are just about equal to the fruit I eat. ::ahem:: Don't even try to tell me it's not the same. I knowwwwww.... ::sigh:: I'll also hide them from the wife, so she won't be tempted. Yes, she reads my posts, but by the time she gets around to this one, the cakes will be long gone.

Then, as I made my way to the register, I saw this and bought it...

I wonder if the mind/food formula includes those snack cakes. Probably not, but what is one to do. You're supposed to eat what you crave because your body needs it... ha! It's kind of silly really, this
self-image of mine. I mean, I can look in the mirror and see thin, but I don't FEEL it.

Maybe I'm depressed. Maybe that's why I feel like I need Xanax... maybe that's why I've been looking forward to my wine as soon as I wake up. Although, I look forward to my coffee as I'm going to bed, so maybe that's just how I roll. Maybe the wife will be really p*ssed if she reads this before I tell her, but seriously... here's the deal:

I feel like I have no purpose. My volunteer stuff doesn't start until April. That's a long wait! My brain may no longer work!!!

When we were working on getting the business up and running (my business idea), I had purpose. I set up a blog, updated the FB page daily, did tons of research, worked on presentations, gave presentations, searched every day for locations (which was eventually our undoing). I was excited... I had a passion for something that would have been a tremendous resource to others. Now I'm totally scattered. My ADD is bad, my OCD is worse...

I think we all have a little bit of OCD in us, right? Like, if you're upset over a break-up, or mad at your spouse, you may eat a jug of ice cream, or scrub the house down until the walls are so thin, they crack if you touch them. It's shifting the focus from something you can't control, to something you can control. Kind of like the government!

Oh, speaking of Government, we received this in the mail...

It belongs to the girl. Clearly this child was not born from my body. I know I said I support Romney over the others, but I'm so politically torn right now, I'm having a hard time committing to any one person or party. This is unusual for me. I'm usually hard-headed about all of this, and very involved in the proceedings... you know, standing at the polls, going door to door. Maybe she is mine, but she is more than half of the wife's too, which was proven when this came in the mail.

OCD moment of the week: The wife and I need to pick a date to "make it official." Official in our eyes anyway... so I've been scouring over the calendar trying to find the perfect date, and I found it!! June 9th, 2012. This is why it's perfect: 6-9-12... count by three. AND 3+3,  3+3+3, and, 3+3+3+3... sequential order because you have two 3's, three 3's, then four 3's! One plus sign, two plus signs, then three plus signs!! See??? Now YOU tell me... do I need to find purpose?

Some of you may say, then go out and do something (waiting on my volunteering to start). The problem is that the presentations gave me a taste for having something that was mine... my own business, in which I made the rules, and I loved it. This makes the thought of teaching again, of walking into a classroom every day, dealing with the politics, and parents (not the kids, loved them) very scary. Panic attack scary. I don't do well with the politics. In case you haven't noticed in my blogs, I'm too outspoken. Most people don't really like that.

The wife feels the same way as far as wanting purpose, and is wanting to "invest" in other business ideas (things we can do together), but this is really very frustrating to me.

In my head, I know my business idea is at a standstill due to the money a space would cost. The other business ideas she has been presented with, require no space, and she's knowledgable with the concepts because of the business she sold.

In my heart, I want her to take what ever money she is wanting to invest and put it into my business... she may not be as knowledgable, but I am, and she would love it.

Since this was not supposed to be a whiney post, I'm going to relieve you all, and be done for now!! I really think that elliptical is calling my name. I can hear it... in the distance... "Get off your a**, grab a snack, and come do this!!" Pfffft!!

Sunday Morning Ramblings #1

It's really not that early on a Sunday morning, but I'm so completely wiped, that I feel like it's 5 am. Not to mention I still have the curtains pulled closed, blocking out a majority of the sunlight.

It's not 5am, it's 10:30. I should have the curtains open, the dogs should have already been taken out three times, and I should have made the Starbucks run. At least I've got my coffee made. I'm actually considering having another cup (having my second cup now... and it's 11 am). Everyone else in the house is still asleep, but thanks to my boy Cam...

I'm awake. He's into everything, the girls are sleeping, and the bird is thankfully quiet. Probably because I have the curtains closed. If the bird was awake, Cam would be barking at the cage, and I would be throwing our training chain/bags at him, yelling "bah." It should be "bahhhhh," but today it would be half-a**ed.

Callie doesn't feel she gets nearly enough face-time or mention in my blog, so here is a picture of my girl Callie May
This baby is the hardest to keep groomed... she hates being brushed, and always has brown tears, no matter what we feed her, or clean her with. She's a sweet girl, whose lights are not always on.

I've been doing a lot of reading lately, political... (there are so many articles, but too little time, so I picked the most popular of the week among my friends)

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/23/rick-santorum-abortion-rape_n_1224624.html

My thoughts on abortion: If a woman/child is raped she should have a choice. If a woman's life is at stake, she should have a choice. Abortion as birth control should not be a choice, but then we would really need to put more money into our welfare and pregnancy prevention programs. I'm not talking abstinence... lets be realistic, not mighty and pious.

Really? I've felt bullied since figuring myself out many moons ago. I feel bullied every time I turn on the TV, or read a news article.

This says it all...

http://www.newson6.com/story/16593145/oklahoma-senator-wants-ban-on-human-fetuses-in-food

I don't even know what political party this guy is with, but I would really worry about his sanity and the fact that he is in a position of power. WOW!!!

Can I just tell you, the upcoming elections are not something I look forward to. At this point, I'm just ready for the Republicans to choose a candidate, and be done with it. Oh, did you know I wasn't Republican? I know I hold some conservative views, but I hold some very liberal views as well. I consider myself a great balance between good and evil. You can pick the side you choose to be evil. I don't care either way. All I'm saying is when I hear of the antics from Santorum, Gingrich, and Romney, I want to gag. Overall, I want what's best for the country. We need to pull our sh*t together, and get serious about what's going to make or break us, and I'll point out the obvious... gay issues are not tearing our country down. Lets talk about our budget deficit, corporate corruption, international relationships? Let's look at welfare reform one more time. Let's look at a national lottery, in which the profits go to helping balance the nations budget. I mean, WHY not? People from all walks of life play lotteries, because we all dream of hitting it big. So why not create something like this? Can you imagine the monies earned? Although, the money would have to be used for the designated purpose. The Texas Lottery was supposed to help education, but that's all gone to Hell in a hand basket, even though the revenue from the lottery reaches over 1 billion. Crazy money, huh?

Anyway, I look at these three men, and personally, I think Romney is the lesser of the evils. If he focuses on the country's problems, and not the "personal" preferences/morals/religious beliefs/desires of the constituents, he could make some positive changes. Why can't these people have the balls to say "Hey Right Wing, I know you don't like gay people! Hey gay people, I know you want to get married. Hey black people, I know you guys aren't the only ones on welfare (Santorum and Gingrich have both singled out black people as the main welfare recipients), Hey Occupy, I know you have a number of demands that I'm working on, hey rich people, I know you pay taxes, though others find that hard to believe, but why not let me focus on the country as a whole." Let's ALL focus on making the country stronger, because if we keep going the way we are... divided on the issues that make us free, we will no longer be as free as we are right now at this moment. I don't know, makes sense to me, but who am I to say. I sit here in my small-town bubble surrounded by people I never see, self medicating against mini panic attacks.

OH, remember I said no one knows about my panic attacks? Well, when the wife read about this, the very first time I posted it ( I think before Christmas), she went ape-sh*t. She stormed around the house, saying she has to find out all kinds of things from my blogs, and that if I don't blog, she doesn't know anything, and that I should go blog THAT right now.... about her rant, I mean. Although, I don't think she really cares to know most of it, because she's way behind on reading this stuff. Boy, I'll really hear it for typing that. Hey, it keeps life exciting for me!

My other reading includes:

This one I've finished reading, and I loved it. I love books full of facts. Nerdy, I know.

This one will take while to read because it's huge. So far I've learned how birth control pills came to exist, that cats were not always house pets, and how they were able to reach that status, and where the term "keeping up with the Joneses came from."

This was an article in readers digest that I follow religiously. I'm always looking for different ways to energize.

GREAT book. I mainly use it for the meals I make at home, but I know a lot of people use it for when they eat out. If I'm eating out, I'm going to eat what I crave.

I love this book, although I realized one of my paradigm shifts was two-fold. I saw a guy buying flowers for a loved one at the store. At first I thought "Awww, how sweet!" Then I thought, he could be buying them because he was a big jerk and is begging forgiveness, or he's having an affair and buying them for a mistress. I know,  leave it to me to turn it around like that!!

I've been working on this, which you could consider a good thing, but in reality, my vocabulary is wonderful. You may not know it from my blogs, but it's true. What I'm avoiding is the math portion. The very thing that keeps me from taking this test. :o/

Okay... I believe I will wrap this up as it is now 12:20, the wife woke up, opened the curtains, I need to make us some food, do a bit of cleaning, then I get to go see my movie "One for the Money!!" I love the books, and like I said in my FB status, I know the movie won't be intellectually stimulating or anything, but if it makes me laugh, I'm a happy camper! What they need to do is make these books into a TV series rather than a movie!!

The Realm Of Ignorance

Well, lets start with me... I'm feeling quite ignorant in this new blog format, but I'll adjust. As long as I can find my favorite blogs, and where I'm supposed to post my own blogs, all is good.

I want to apologize for not responding to the posted comments on my page these past few posts. I love your comments, and I truly appreciate the people who read my posts, as boring as they may be at times. I've just been nutty busy, as I'm sure all of you totally understand. There is one blogger who wrote a post on how to know if your blog is boring. She said if she isn't writing about your blog, then it must be boring. I suppose mine is just that, but I'll accept this fact and keep on writing. I'm sure something I post will interest a few. I have all types of politically charged stuff I could write. I also have ALL kinds of stuff on the wife I could write... as she's been reminding me all morning. She tells me my posts are getting dry... that I need to post more about her. Really? I know... it's all about her.

This post is about the Realm of Ignorance that surrounds all of us. No matter where we live, no matter what our culture... there is a Realm of Ignorance, and hopefully we are on the outside looking in. No Wifey, this isn't about you, I am NOT calling you ignorant... unless of course you fit into one of these categories.

The Hick: The hick is a person who "don't mean no harm." They have very little exposure to the world around them, as they've created their own world in their backwoods community. They don't know about Sarah Palin, they don't care about the tropical storm depression moving over the great state of Florida, and they don't keep abreast of current events in Egypt. They take care of their own, and they smile at you in sympathy, thinking you're just about the strangest person to grace their world with your capri jeans with the holes, that you actually spent money on. Maybe the hick isn't so ignorant after all.

The Redneck: The redneck is one to be scared of. They have strong ideas about how people should be, based on what they call tradition. They're usually full of anger and it's directed at anyone who is different. They function better when in a group. They will prove to you why you are inferior in any way possible. If you don't speak English, if your skin is a different color, if you don't like men, OR women, they will take you out, and drag you behind a truck just to teach you a lesson. Luckily the Redneck can be spotted a mile off, because they are quite obnoxious, and they tend to have a scraggly look about them that just can't be polished, even in their Sunday clothes.

The Educated Ignorant: These are the ones we really worry about. They are educated, which gives them a certain amount of respect from those who aren't as educated. They are very good at manipulation, and they are good at twisting words, even those from the Bible, to fit their own agendas. They flood our great country with strong ideas about equality, who deserves it and who doesn't. They preach hate through words of "love." The educated ignorant could also be called hypocrites, though they would deny that... but anyone who feels they have the right to decide another's life path, is surely a hypocrite. They build themselves up so high, that they think their beliefs and choices are the only way to live, yet faced with the same decisions they closet themselves and their drinking, their drug use, their infidelities. The problem with these people is you never know who they are.

I have a low boiling point for ignorance... especially the judgmental type of ignorance that stems from those who have placed themselves on self-built pedestals, and we sure are being bombarded with it right now in the political arenas. I turn the television off. I avoid reading news articles. I stay away from situations that may cause me to have a boil over. I'm making myself ignorant I suppose. There will be more on boiling over later... me boiling over and the wife not truly understanding my need to keep myself out of situations that may cause this to happen.

I better get going for now. I've got to get to the store. We've got some friends coming over, and we're hoping to take the boat out. I hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day Sunday... be safe! Tonight, I will read and catch up with all of you, no matter how much I have to drink. ::ahem::
