Eat This! BUT I want THAT!

When you write a blog post, do you title it first, or do you title it after you write it? I tend to do both. If I am feeling incredibly focused, I'll title it, and write. If I'm feeling a bit scattered, as I am right now, I'll start writing, and see what happens! I've come to the conclusion, that I probably truly suffer from ADD. It's not AD(H)D, because I don't have enough energy for the hyper-active portion. If that were the case, I'd be so much more productive, and possibly thinner too, without having to work so hard for it.

I've blogged about this before, but I am SO freakin' tired of having to work hard to stay in shape. I'm tired of dieting, I'm tired of feeling guilty for skipping a work-out day, or having a bowl of ice cream (lactose free of course). Don't get me wrong, I love working out. It's the whole getting myself motivated enough to do it. Once I decide to work out, I have to gather the dogs in their room by bribing them with treats. Cam likes to sit right under my elliptical, which is dangerous, and it totally slows me down, or I have to stop altogether to make him get back. SO I put them in their room, then head up. I've now started a new total core work-out... planking. Oh my hell, it was hard at first. I'm finally getting it though, and pray I'm not injuring myself internally. It sure felt like it at first! Next on my work-out agenda is a row machine. I also want a boxing bag. The wife wants me to get rid of the elliptical in exchange for the row machine, but I don't want to do that. I love my elliptical. I don't see why we can't have both machines up there. I mean, why set up a "pretty to look at room" that no one ever uses... at all! It can still be a nice room with a row machine in it. We wouldn't take the stuff out, I'd just stick the row machine next to the elliptical. The boxing bag can be put in the extra bedroom until it's being used. No pain, no gain, right?

I bought a new book... "Eat This, Not That." I love it because it gives a ton of suggestions as far as creating fully balanced meals and snacks that give you all of your needed vitamins, and are combined in such a way as to boost metabolism, and curb hunger. It gives meal ideas, snack ideas, ways to eat when you're on the go, and then it hits on the best exercises and such (hence the row machine). I've made some delicious meals... breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and have totally cleaned out our pantry and fridge. Nothing in our house now but healthy, organic, all natural, stuff. The girl was NOT happy. "Where are the cookies?" "Where are the chips?" "I need stuff to snack on!" We have chips, they're organic. We have fruit, and veggies, meats, nuts, granola. She was horrified... now don't get me wrong, I've never had a bunch of junk in the house, but this was such an obvious clean-out that she freaked. Anyway, the whole idea behind the book is that you're eating healthy... and it's not dieting. Though sometimes, I feel like it is. Especially when I just want to go eat tacos, salsa, chips, and rice... and tamales... okay, okay, I'm done.

The wife is falling asleep on the couch, so I better wrap it up and get us to bed! By the way, she's already lost 8 pounds since we've been home! Love this book! :)
